Sharing Success

This is a brief, but important, issue of 'Secrets of a Trainer'.

As many of you, who have purchased my first fitness DVD package - The Leg, Butt, Hip and Thigh Makeover, continue to email me your progress and success stories, I thought it would be inspiring to you if I shared one of my own recent successes with you.

The popularity and 'buzz' about the LBHT Makeover recently caught the attention of a worldwide womens' company. As a result of this, I was invited to be THE Fitness Writer for their newsletter AND website. This company has been around since the mid eighties and has MillYunz of loyal customers around the world.

I was quite flattered and honored when they invited me to write my premier article for this project. It's an article you should read for motivational purposes in your quest for a betterbody, mind and spirit. I'll give you the link in a second.

Just do one thing if you like the article - send the company a quick email saying something as simple as 'Hey, great article by Joey Atlas' or something along those lines. Thanks in advance!!

'Secrets of a Trainer'

2) Dangers of a new weight control pill
3) Future Developments

1) Coffee Tea or Both
- OK, as promised here it is. We've all read articles, seen news reports, heard about research studies and still there is no definitive answer on the effects of coffee and/or tea on our health (body, mind, spirit). Truth is you can find arguments for both sides of the story and this will go on forever. The 'why' isn't as important as the 'what' - in the context of "What sense am I supposed to make of the debate over coffee and tea and their relation to health and fitness?"

Well here is my position (Remember there is 36 yearsof wisdom behind this - my birthday just passed on the16th of March):

OK, first I want to get this out of the way: If you or anyone you know has a hypersensitivity to caffeine or any other elements in coffee or tea - what I'm about to say will not apply. The following information is intended for the general population who are not hypersensitive to coffee or tea. There is nothing wrong with a few cups of coffee AND tea being consumed on a daily basis - at all.

It is actually my strong opinion that this is quite healthy in many regards. You may be wondering, "Joey what is your daily in take ofcoffee and tea?"Well, I start EVERY day with a double shot of espresso, a halfcup of skim milk and a rounded tablespoon of sweetened cocoa. In the mid morning I'll usually have a cup of green tea. Right after lunch I'll have my double espresso drink again. And after dinner I usually have one or two more cups of green tea, sometimes black tea.

Keep in mind, I workout pretty regularly and eat very healthy. I really didn't get into a regular coffee and tea habit (I consider it a good habit) until a few years ago - as part of my overall approach to nutrition. My energy always feel optimal, I rarely get 'painful' hunger pains and I truly believe there are long term health benefits that come out of moderate coffee and tea consumption (ie - disease, cancer fighting properties). On a spiritual level, I believe that many things that were put on this earth long ago were put here for good reasons, coffee and tea being two of those things.

(Keep in mind I'm sipping on my afternoon green tea as I write this issue of 'Secrets of a Trainer')There will be alot more on this in my book 'Transformationof a Fat Kid' - due out later this year on Amazon.com

2) Diet/Fat Loss Drugs
There have been recent news reports and print stories about the latest weight/fat drug that is supposed to be coming to market very soon, followed by a handful of other prescription drugs in the same category. I believe the main one is named Xenical. The most important part of these articles which is usually brief and sometimes left out completely is the part that talks about side effects and health risks.

The newest versions of these types of agents are nothing more than variations of some of the older ones that were on the market a ew years ago (Phen/Fen, Redux, etc.). Yes, some are original creations, but essentially function the same way - especially in regards to side effects. There are too many too list but some of the top ones are:
-uncontrollable bowel movements!
-leaky diahrea (I know I didn't spell that right)
-loss of speech
-death
This is crazy!! - just do some of your own research to learn more about these new creations coming to market. Now I understand that there are extreme cases of obesity which require extreme intervention, and in these cases such meds may be warranted - although I'm not fully convinced of that quite yet - only because I know what we, as humans, are capable of from within.

The point here - you can achieve alot of success with what you have been supplied with by nature, you are quite capable of extraordinary progress not just with how you look and feel but in all aspects of your life. Trust me, go try something you haven't tried because of uncertainty & don't give up easily! I tell you this because this is what I've been doing for the last 3 years of my life and some of the most incredible things are happening because of this!!

3) Future Developments
I've received many emails and phone calls asking about other fitness, exercise & workout DVDs & products that are in development. While I welcome all emails and encourage everyone to keep writing and sending in your questions, just know that it is physically impossible for me to answer every email that comes in every day - but I will try to answer them in a future issue of this newletter.

With the success of The Leg, Butt Hip and Thigh Makeover has come the realization that I am offering an approach to fitness and working out, that is fairly different than what is out there already. "Abs of Stone, Core of Steel - Unleashing Your Perfect Midsection" DVDs will be out in just a few months -we are working hard on them as we speak (or as I write) PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SEND ME YOUR FEEDBACK ON THE TITLE by email.

And the UpperBody DVDs (Which I haven't named yet, are being outlined right now) so stay tuned.

Be Fit!
