Fitness Questions Answered

Your Fitness Questions Answered...

1) "Joey, I am allergic to wheat and glutens - what advice can you give or resources can you direct me toward to help me manage my nutritional needs and challenges?"

Having done some research on Celiac Disease - I am familiar with certain aspects of your challenge. My first suggestion is to see this as a blessing, because you will naturally have to stay away from many foods that are simply 'not good' for most people in the long run. Your diet will have to be 'cleaner' - lending to better overall long term health and fitness.

In my research, I found one resource to be most helpful:

The Essential Gluten Free Guide

When you get to the site look in the left column - you'll see a sign up link for the free newsletter - its a good one - and the e-book is incredible.

2) "Joey, I just found out I am pregnant - what suggestions do you have for fitness during pregnancy?"

While I am very successful with post pregnancy fitness programming - I have always 'proceeded with caution' when asked for fitness advice during pregnancy - and almost always, I have referred women to consult and coordinate with their OBGYN.

I understand many women are frustrated or just not satisfied with getting fitness advice from their OBGYN and on that note I would direct anyone interested in this topic to a fantastic resource:

Mom's Fit Pregnancy

Its a must have for any women who is planning on becoming pregnant or who is pregnant.

Enjoy,

Life and Death Fitness

Life and Death Fitness

Whose life (or lives) would be affected by your death?

When you let yourself go you not only hurt yourself - you hurt those around you.

When you feel guilty about taking the time to take care of yourself - think twice. If you are not in top operating condition and at your relative best - you are not giving all you can to those around you - kids, spouse, etc...

Ironic isn't it? We must be 'selfish' in order to be able to give to others. Well, maybe its just another way of the universe exhibiting the universal law of balance.

There are 24 hours in a day - some of that time - even if its only 30 minutes MUST be for you.

What you put in your mouth - is not a function of 'Oh - I can't get enough of this - I'll eat more of it." - but more a function of "This is going to give me the proper fuel to function optimally without sacrificing my health and fitness."

Some of you reading this do all the right things as if it is second nature - and I commend you for that. But for every one of you there are tens of thousands - maybe hundreds of thousands of others (many reading this right now) - who are still learning how to reprogram their subconscious.

For those of you still trying - know this; everything you need to get where you want to be is within you right this second waiting to be tapped into. Start right now - don't wait.

Great Photos I Promised:
